Since launching in December 2019 with a debut event in Taipei, Taiwan, HER他 has become a mainstay across Australia and Asia, especially within the local community of its home turf of Naarm. HER 他 strives to promote local and international musicians and artists through discourse and dance parties.

HER explores issues of women and gender equality and supports all who contribute to the music and art industries. HER 他 creates a space where everyone is welcome and equal and would like to extend an invite to everyone to come along and join in and Celebrate the Lunar New Year on Saturday 10th December at iconic Naarm venue, SUBCLUB from 9 PM - 3 AM.

For this celebratory edition of HER他, we thought it would be a great idea while curating this lineup to celebrate the lunar new year and feature some exciting talent in the scene, all of whom are no stranger to lunar new year celebrations in their own culture. Let them bring you on a sonic journey transcending cultures and continents, and celebrate lunar new year with us at HER.

After four years, Cloudy Ku’s Naarm/ Melbourne-based label and event series HER他 and SPEED 速度 are heading back to Taipei with four international artists and three local Taiwan all-stars.

For anyone who missed out, Taipei Bron, Naarm/Melbourne-based HER 他 & SPEED 速度 set out to celebrate gender and music equality with the celebration of exceptional local talent from the Asian and Australian electronic music scene. The mixtape and event series strongly focus on honouring and exploring all that is Hard, Heavy and Fast in the local and international dance music communities. A melting pot of genres, where no one style of music is favoured; as long as it goes Hard and Fast, It is HER 他 and SPEED 速度.

Omniversal Hum and Her Music Equality present a debut Naarm live performance from Athens based artist Evita Manji (PAN).

Musician and vocalist Evita Manji is connecting the dots between the human experience, climate change, quantum physics and death, in an attempt to dig deeper into the primordial truth of existence. Through their carefully constructed practice of synthesis and sound design led by choir-inspired vocals, they fabricate musical worlds consisting of ever-expanding sonic organisms and shapeless solid non-materials. In 2021 Evita launched their platform myxoxym, releasing the singles “OIL/TOO MUCH” and “EYES/NOT ENOUGH”, as well as curating the first edition of the fundraising compilation series “PLASMODIUM I”, aiming to raise environmental awareness and provide support to relief efforts for wildlife affected by forest fires in Greece.

Since their debut performance at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) alongside Eartheater and Soho Rezanejad (Athens, September 2021), Evita has performed in cities across Europe including London, Prague, Krakow and Zurich, and at festivals such as Unsound, Borderline, Rhizom and Lunchmeat — where they shared the stage with Amnesia Scanner at the Convent of St. Agnes. They have collaborated with numerous artists across various media and exhibited sound pieces at galleries like Kunsthalle Basel (in collaboration with Young Boy Dancing Group) and Saigon Athens.

Support acts on the night will come from a cohort of post-club, future-gazing sound thinkers who consistently reimagine club frameworks with inventive selections and experimentation.

In celebration of Bussy Temple's one-year anniversary, Bussy Temple is presenting Lethal Fantasies in collaboration with HER 他 to host our first all women and non-binary international DJ lineups.
